Lake Elmo, named after a nearby by lake, is a community of communities, with over 30 distinct neighborhoods serviced by the best transportation system in the Twin Cities. Lake Elmo neighborhoods are distinctive in their attention to open space, quality construction, and quiet dark skies living.
The City of Lake Elmo is home to 18 parks. The two largest are Lake Elmo Park Reserve and Sunfish Lake Park. Lake Elmo’s park system serves organized sports, casual play, biking, cross country skiing, horseback riding, picnicking, relaxation, nature appreciation and a variety of other outdoor activities.
Lake Elmo is part of Stillwater School District 834. With approximately 8,400 students, the district strives to develop learners who are innovative, creative and prepared for a rapidly changing world. Expectations are high and students of all abilities are challenged, supported and motivated at every level – from early childhood through high school.
